With great regret we will not be able to reopen our wild swimming pond for Summer 2020. This is due to the discovered presence of a colony of Great Crested Newts which means bathing and pond works are forbidden. It’s great for the local biodiversity, and their nests are obviously something we very much wish to protect.
The pond is tucked away in a corner of the campsite, overhung by a weeping willow tree. You can still enjoy the space without entering the water, of course!
Sadly the swimming lake that has previously been available to campers is also off off-limits due to a change in tenancy.
